COVID-19 UPDATE

Our staff at Oakmont Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy Center take our role of caring for our patients very seriously. We continue to monitor developments related to the COVID-19 pandemic and are taking the necessary preventative measures to minimize the risk of the Coronavirus. Our patients are being scheduled on a limited basis ensuring social distancing, taking temperatures of our clients and staff, hand washing prior to and after sessions, and we are sanitizing our clinic and equipment before and after each patient as per CDC guidelines.

For those who need or prefer to stay at home, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) are allowing telemedicine to be performed in order to help minimize exposure to COVID-19 and to improve access to care.

1. If you have Medicare an e-visit is covered under your insurance which consists of a telephone conversation with currently treated patients to discuss concerns, management of care, and progression of home program.


2. All commercial carriers will cover telehealth which entails a face to face video conference over a HIPAA compliant portal. With this method we can perform an evaluation for new patients, and manage/progress program for current patients. Since the regulations have been changing rapidly insurance coverage will be verified.


3. If telehealth is not covered by your insurance, including Medicare, you can choose these services on a self-pay basis.
